The family run store Isaac Lord Ltd was established in 1892 as an Ironmongers, providing tools and supplies to local workers. The company quickly expanded to include a trade department for the local furniture industry, and has continued to grow and move with the times.

A Dickies distributor since January 2006, Isaac Lord has recently adopted Dickies’ unique Workwear Centre approach to selling workwear and PPE. This combines a strong industrial theme with high street service and facilities. The combination of distinctive brand identity, chrome shop fitting, aluminium flooring and new changing room facilities, allowing customers to try clothing before purchasing, creates a new shopping experience for workwear customers.

This innovative approach has resulted in increased sales: “September was our best month ever for Dickies workwear,” says Retail Purchasing Manager, Keith Robinson. Isaac Lord stock a wide range of Dickies workwear including the contemporary and high performance Delta and Eisenhower ranges, as well as high-visibility garments, fleeces, wet weather gear, safety footwear and essential accessories such as knee pads, socks and hats.

In addition to a great range of Dickies workwear, Isaac Lord carries an extensive range of power tools, ironmongery, cabinet fittings and woodworking machinery. The company employs 60 trained staff to assist customers ranging from professional tradesmen, the DIY trade and the general public.
